The holidays are a time for pleasure. Giving and receiving gifts, indulging on decadence, splurging on frivolity, these are things I like doing. These are things I deserve to be doing because I deserve to get everything I want, especially at Christmastime.
For you, however, the holidays are a time of giving, a time for providing. The holiday season is a time that you are expected to produce my pleasures with even greater abundance. If that means giving up your own frivolities, then you have learned a very valuable lesson and you’re welcome, puppet.
For me, this is a season of joy and merriment. Order me a present, send me a tribute. Because for you, December is a time for sacrifice, a time for denial.
